Artemis Dashboard

Your data stays on your device

Artemis Dashboard is built so that nobody but you, and the coaches you choose, can see your archery data. This page explains what that means in practice.

What does the dashboard do with my database?

The dashboard runs in your browser. Your database is decrypted and read on your own device and is never uploaded to our server or anyone else's.

What is stored on my device?

ItemWhereWhy
Protected export (.artp)Browser storage (IndexedDB)Reopen your statistics without exporting again
Key derived from your passphraseBrowser storage, cannot be read outOpen new exports without retyping
Settings (theme, tab, filters, sorting)Browser storage (localStorage)Show the dashboard the way you left it

Your passphrase and the decrypted database are never stored. Unprotected files are shown but not kept.

Does anyone else see my data?

No. Our server only delivers the dashboard's files. It does not receive your database, your passphrase or your statistics. There is no analytics software in the dashboard or on these pages, no advertising and no tracking cookies.

The dashboard and these pages load nothing from other servers: the fonts and the world map are served from our own server too, so the places where you shot are never sent to a map service.

Coaches only see your data when you give them both your export and your passphrase.

Does the server keep logs?

Yes, like almost every web server. For each request it records the time, the page or file asked for, your IP address and the name of your browser. The log holds nothing from your database or your statistics: the tabs and filters inside the dashboard never reach the server.

We use the log only to keep the server secure and to count visitors, for example how many people opened the dashboard on a day and whether they use a phone or a laptop. The log itself is deleted after 14 days. The visitor counts made from it are kept longer, with IP addresses shortened first, so they no longer point to a single connection.

Location and health data

Artemis can save the GPS position of each end and your heart rate. The dashboard shows them, for example on the map and in Wellbeing, but only on your device. Heart-rate and wellbeing answers are health data; they never leave your device through the dashboard.

How do I remove my data?

Click Remove this archer from this device in the dashboard, or clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Changes

If the way the dashboard handles data changes, this page is updated first.
